When I was in first or second grade, I remember the local zoo brought a porcupine to class and told us plucking a quill doesn’t hurt just like sticking the quill on my arm doesn’t hurt. He demo’ed quickly, showing off the quill sticking perpendicular on his arm. He then pulled it off and started bleeding. He got escorted out and we never saw him again. True story.
